The main force behind the Sahara Storage Battery company were Edward and Edwin Hacking. Before the Sahara Battery company they are listed, in October of 1919, as filing a notice of organization of the H H Electric Storage Battery Comapany at 506 Broad Street in Providence, RI 1. Also in 1919, there were two Patents taken out December 17, 1919, 1,362,294, Electric Storage Battery (Lead plates and sulphuric acid) and 1,362,295, Electrolyte for Electric Storage Batteries (Pumice combined with sulphuric acid) given to Edward Hacking 3. There is then a listing for the H & H Storage Battery Company in January of 1920 2. One other listing for the Hacking Mfg Co in Central Falls owned by Edward Hacking is listed in 1919 but no mention of what they produced 4. Two other Patents were issued in 1922, US1416195 (May 16th) for a ELECTRIC STORAGE BATTERY and US1421217 (June 26th) for a ELECTRIC STORAGE BATTERY.

Then in 1925 5 and 6 1926 we find a listing for Sahara Dry Storage Battery at 232 Aborn St and an incorpration in 1922 6 or 1923 9, George M Rex President and Treasurer 6. In 1927 Edward Hacking's name appears again in the directory as being the manager 7. And then in another 1927 directory Mr Rex is listed again as President and Treasurer 8.

In 1928 however we see that Sahara Dry Battery Company Forfeited its charter. 9

In 1929 it looks like Edward Hacking, one of the origional founders, is having a court battle with what ever is left of the company. 10
