Julius Faigl was born March 22 1894 in Budapest Hungary and immigrated to the United States December 22nd, 1912 from Hamburg, Germany. He arrived in the port of New York, aboard the ship Patricia 19, 16 days later on January 6th 1913 18. He was married on May 19th, 1917 3 to Annie Wiest, born July 15th, 1892 and they had a daughter, Valerian Jolan who was born in Providence, January 23rd, 1917. They resided at 194 Broadway in Providence. 1

In 1917 Julius’s occupation is listed as Iron Worker at the Nitro Tungston Lamp Company at 451 Richmond Street in Providence. He is living at 197 Broad Street in Providence. 7

In 1918 his residence is 78 Corinth St. 9

and then by 1920 has moved to Lakewood, RI 10

He was naturalized November 21st, 1925 2

In 1929 Julius submitted a Patent for a tube with two filiments that can be switched when one blows out. It actually is two tubes in one envelope. What company this tube was designed for is not listed. I have found however a lawyers note, given to me by Larry Daniel from the Tube Club of America, that was attached to the art work that says it was for assigned to a Rhode Island tube company.

In 1930 Julius is listed as having the occupation of a Tube maker in the Industry of radio tube plant. 4 and as a radio manufacturer 11 and is living at 119 Colfax Street. 12

Being listed as a Radio Manufacturer continues in 1931 13, 1932 14, 1933 15, 1934 16 and 1935 17

The 1936 20 and 1937 21 Providence Business Directory has a listing for Fulgor Products Inc. It says it was incorporated in 1934 and was at 26 Custom House Street, room 510. President of the company was Julius Faigl with Leo G Gorman, secretary and Augustus F Higgins, Treasurer. Their business was Photo Supplies.

In 1939 Julius filed for divorce. 5 and in the 1940 Census we find Julius listed as a lodger Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where he worked as a Collection Manager for a publisher. 6

In 1942 Julius is still in Pennsylvania and listed a working at the Crosier Missionary. 8
